Eric M. Brown, PhD, M.Div, LPC (Illinois) is an Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry department at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He is a core faculty member in the Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine (CACREP Accredited) program where he teaches Trauma Counseling, Group Therapy, and Career Counseling. Prior to his present faculty appointment he was an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Program at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and previously served as the Program Director/Assistant Professor at Wheaton College, IL in their Mental Health Counseling Program.
Dr. Brown is a mental health counselor and has practiced in college counseling centers, community mental health settings, a level 1 trauma hospital, and private practice. He specializes in the treatment of trauma, and has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults. His research focuses on issues related to trauma, burnout and resilience of helping professionals and interracial trust between clinicians and patients.
